Cookie Policy

Last updated: 23 May 2026. This policy explains how DOXNPLAY uses cookies and local storage on the platform.

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently, remember your preferences, and provide information to website owners. Cookies do not contain your personal information directly — they typically store an identifier that links back to information held by us or our service providers. Some cookies are placed by us (first-party cookies); others are placed by third-party services we use (third-party cookies).

2. How We Use Cookies

DOXNPLAY uses cookies for the following purposes: (a) Authentication & Session Management — to keep you logged in as you navigate the platform and to maintain your session security; (b) Security — to detect and prevent fraudulent logins, cross-site request forgery, and other security threats; (c) Preferences — to remember your settings such as display preferences and balance visibility state; (d) Performance & Analytics — to understand how users navigate the platform so we can improve it; (e) Payment Processing — Paystack (our payment processor) sets cookies to manage the payment flow and prevent fraud. We do not use cookies for advertising, cross-site tracking, or building profiles for sale to third parties.

3. Types of Cookies We Use

Essential cookies (always active): session token (identifies your logged-in session — expires when you close your browser or after 30 days if you select "Remember me"), CSRF token (security token to prevent cross-site request forgery — session duration), and auth state (used by NextAuth.js to maintain your authentication — session duration). These cannot be disabled without breaking core platform functionality. Analytics cookies (with consent): we use privacy-respecting analytics to measure page visits and feature usage. These are anonymised and do not track you across other websites. Third-party cookies: Paystack sets cookies during the payment flow. These are governed by Paystack's own cookie and privacy policy (paystack.com/privacy). We do not control these cookies.

4. Cookies We Do NOT Use

DOXNPLAY does not use: advertising or retargeting cookies; social media tracking pixels; third-party analytics that build cross-site profiles (e.g. Google Analytics with IP tracking enabled); cookies that track your browsing across websites outside of DOXNPLAY; fingerprinting techniques as a substitute for cookies. We believe in minimal data collection and do not monetise user behaviour data.

5. Cookie Durations

Session cookies: deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies: our "Remember me" authentication cookie persists for 30 days. Paystack payment cookies: typically expire within the payment session (minutes to hours). Analytics cookies (if consented): typically 12 months, reset on each visit. You can view and delete individual cookies at any time using your browser's developer tools or settings.

6. Managing Your Cookie Preferences

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to: view cookies currently stored on your device; delete all or specific cookies; block cookies from specific websites; block all third-party cookies; set preferences for cookie acceptance before they are placed. Please note that disabling essential cookies will prevent you from logging in and using the platform. Disabling Paystack cookies will prevent you from completing card and bank transfer deposits. For browser-specific instructions: Chrome — Settings > Privacy and security > Cookies; Safari — Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data; Firefox — Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data; Edge — Settings > Cookies and site permissions.

7. Local Storage

In addition to cookies, DOXNPLAY uses browser local storage for certain preferences — specifically, your balance visibility setting (hidden/shown). Local storage data is never sent to our servers and remains entirely on your device. You can clear local storage through your browser's developer tools or by clearing your browser's site data. Clearing local storage will reset your display preferences but will not affect your account or wallet balance.

8. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy when we make changes to our use of cookies or in response to legal or regulatory changes. Material updates will be communicated via a notice on the platform or by email. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

9. Contact

For questions about our use of cookies or to exercise any rights related to cookie-based data processing, contact our Data Protection Officer at privacy@doxnplay.com. If you are in the EU/EEA and believe our cookie practices do not comply with the ePrivacy Directive or GDPR, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
